BJORN ” The Terminator” MOVES ON
BJORN MOVES ON
Bjorn Dunkerbeck and F2 are to part company thereby marking the end of one of the most successful relationships in sport.
More than fifteen years ago F2 had the vision to take the ‘el nino’ on board when he was a virtually unknown 50 kg schoolboy. It is an association that has leaded the sports achieving uncountable race, wave or speed titles. And of course a quite phenomenal 12 consecutive world titles, a record which you can safely say will live forever.
Tongues will of course wag concerning the reason for the split. Did he jump? Was he pushed? Was it just about money? Let the speculation end here for Bjorn leaves F2 on the very best of terms. He feels he has nothing left to prove in the competitive arena and is simply looking to change the direction of his life and pursue some new goals. F2 has been an extended family for Bjorn Dunkerbeck. His parting is like the favourite son leaving home to follow his career.
Though said many times before, F2 would like to thank and congratulate Björn one final time for his loyalty, outstanding achievements and the spirit he has brought to the sport of windsurfing.
Bjorn Dunkerbeck’s legacy is one of sporting excellence, a spirit that is now engrained in the F2 team. From shaper to sailor, the team will continue to push the boundaries in construction and performance. Winning has become an unbreakable habit.
Aloha,Toms correct. Bjorn will be promoting Carlos Sosa’s board brand ”Proof”, formerly ”Water Proof”, a custom board company based out of the Canaries. Bjorn has been riding Proof wave boards for years, and he has an ownership interest in the business.
Bjorn just returned from the north shore of Oahu where he was doing some windsurfing and tow-in surfing video work. His focus will be promoting the sport of windsurfing, doing video and competing in wave events particularly in new, exotic locations.
