  Created in 1998 by the pionneers of this discipline.
  Has been running the freestyle competitions for 4 years.
  This structure is the most important one in the kite snow area. It is composed of :

  The Winter Tour attracts 7 nationalities, a cultural mixture within the same state of mind : Respect.
  The best riders in the discipline have been following us for 4 years ;

  CONCEPT COMPETITION

  PRESENTATION

  The Winter Tour is the International Championship competition where the show is as much important as the sport result.
  The competitors in Kite ski and Kite snow are judged from their style (free expression) according to several criteria :
  · Jumps and figures
  · Tricks and Manoeuvres
  · General style

  The heat lasts 10 to 15 min. with at least 4 riders on the ground. This formula allows to guarantee the quality show and a good public understanding.

  Jury : composed of 1 federal representative, 1 Press, 1 Rider.

  POSITIONING

  The 15-25 years old are the heart of the target, their direct influences are : surf, snowboard, street, music and video games.
  Of course, this mark is expanded to an older public, movements consumers and creators.

  The Kite surfers come from different sports areas : Snowboard, Ski, Wake, Gymnastics, Paragliding….

  The Winter Tour gathers the Kite surfers tribes, the pioneers and the best of the discipline. Individuals which spirit remains radically turned towards their natural environment.

  The key words associated to the Kite image are : snow, wind and glide, extreme sport, space and adventure spirit.
  The big values : agility, nature, freedom, respect.

  STAGES

  SITES AND DATES
  Our sites are chosen according to their geographic position, their exposure to the winds and their history in the Kite environment.

  The Lautaret col
  Serre Chevalier

  From January, 6th to 12th 2003
  A high mountain site and a Kite Mecca ;
  situated between La Grave and Serre-Chevalier, large
  virgin space where the practice level is excellent.
  Exploited by Surf’Air school.
  The proximity of Grenoble and Briançon guarantees a large public on week ends.

  Le Semnoz
  Annecy

  From March, 10th to 16th 2003
  The mythical site, 15 mn from Annecy and Kite snow cradle in its Free-style version, with a 360° view over the Alps for pictures of Quality.
  Exploited by KS Center and the permanent test center SKS. The Annecy basin offers a potential of 10000 people, an international airport (Geneva) far from ½ hour drive, numerous activities in an exceptional setting.

  With a total of 14 competition days in France.

  FOREIGN STAGES

  Silvaplana’s lake
  Switzerland

  From February, 22th to 26th 2003
  First snowkite place in Switzerland
  A big frozen lake near St MORITZ.

  Geilo
  Norway

  From March 31 th to April 06th 2003
  A land for snowkiting. Many great spots
  to ride in incredible sunsets.

  With a total of 10 competition days .

  PROGRAM

  COMPETITIONS / EVENTS

  Day 1 : 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Registration
  12 a.m. Race meeting
  1 p.m. Beginning of the competition *
  7 p.m. Opening evening sponsored by a partner

  * In case the number of registered people is higher than 24 skiers and 24 surfers, a selection test will be organized the first week-end.

  Day 2 to 6 Competitions course
  . Maximum exploitation of the meteorological conditions.

  Day 6 Closing evening sponsored by a partner

  Day 7 Prize-giving on the beginning of the afternoon. Closing ceremony.

  ANIMATIONS

  Various activities are planned in the program throughout the week.

  · Demonstration of ski/surf freestyle with the 2 teams A. Snowboard and Rossignol.
  · Parachuting demonstration by Annecy « paraclub »
  · Ice/snow sculpting with the Beaux Arts school (Fine Arts school)
  · Many animations with Diabolo, stilts….
  · Films projections on ice wall
  · Exhibitions about kite surf specific equipment.
  · Various concerts/sound system evenings.
