Hi Tony
I was wondering if you know some good ”freeride light” singletracks in Skåne, I mean steep and technical but without 2m drops 😉
How about the woody part of Kullen, do you know any spots there? Or anywhere else?
Do you still ride mtb by the way?

hehehe thanks for the help Jonaish, but if you are looking for some decent stuff there is a good blend around Kristianstad where I used to live, we built it mostly ourselfs.
In Kristianstad, we built a dirt jump circut in ”udden” there are a few sets of doubles, a step down and a step up.
In Vånga, there is a decent although pretty short downhill track that offers up a good amount of technical stuff, and a various drops from 1m up to about 7m. There is also a good amount of North Shore stuff there, although we built it out of pallets, so I aint sure how long it will hold up.
As for cruising around on singletrack. as Jonas mentioned there is a good amount of stuff in the forests over there, ranging from firetrack roads in Balsberget, and flowing Singletrack around Brösarp. If ya feel like going for the weekend and camping there is a Stuga at Vantalingen (probably not spelled right) there is normally wood and an axe there, but tell me before ya go as I can set you up with wood 5 mins away if there isnt any there.
I sold my Demo8 to buy my kite gear, not much use for it here, but I still have a north shore home-grown hardtail that I do a bit of dirt jumping and street on occasionally, the BB is a bit wanked, but I will get a new one soon.
If ya are looking for bike bits, gimme a shout, I have loads lying around here, (hope hubs, brakes, all that sort of stuff) and I use http://www.chainreactioncycles.com its much cheaper than anything you will get here.

You had a Demo8? That is one nasty looking bike, must be loads of fun to ride in the right conditions. One of those bikes you’re drooling all over in the bikeshops, and something your girlfriend never will understand, no matter how much to try to explain 😉
I’ve gotten myself a Kona Dawg Primo (5″ travel), and put on a shorter Stem (Truvativ Hussefelt 70 mm) and Dmr v8 pedals, and upgrading the fork to a Marzocchi Allmountain 1 (5 and 6″ travel and lockout for climbing). This way I hope to have a bike that can handle most of the ”downhill” stuff here, and still be able to climb uphill as well (it was bought for danish conditions wich is a lot of climbing followed by short ”downhill” singletracks).
The bike is in Århus Denmark with my girlfriend, but I’ll probably get it over for the summermonths. Maybe you are up for a trip to Vanga in the summer?

ahh sweet ride!, lets hook up for the summer when its not windy and we can take a trip over to vånga, its a skislope in the winter, and we use the skilift to pull is and the bike up in the summer, so no more pushing uphill!.
If you are looking for the ultimate freeride spot, its in scotland. There is an orginisation called ”the forestry commission” and they own almost all the forest in Scotland. THey have set up bike specific forests, so you have the luxury of fabricated trails, abit like whistler, NO WALKERS ALLOWED! – so you dont need to worry about hitting that double at full speed on a twisty forest path and avoiding some old lady and her dog!. Google ”Glentress” and you will get an idea of what I am talking about.
Sterlingticket were flying cheap to scotland from Kaastrup, so it wont cost you more than a couple of thousand to get there and back.

Glentress looks really nice on the googlepics I could find (dig the ”no walkers allowed” part 😉 ). Seems trailwise like the terrain will throw anything you can handle at you – and then some. Sounds cheap to get there as well, compared to other places.
Kite and mtb really is the perfect combination, especially in the summer when the wind is crap, reallly looking forward to some summer riding 🙂 I’ll get my bike over approximately june, let’s hook up then.

Häng med till Kinnekulla :laugh:. Tänkte dra ihop ett gäng till våren och köra en cykel och tält helg där. Skall vara en riktigt schysst 4,5 mils runda med en riktigt lång och go singletrack utförslöpa, sen lite blandad körning. Och du Tony lite klättring skadar inte för benträningen. Den har du nytta av i poppen:wink: Skulle det råka blåsa lite kanske man hinner med lite kite på vänern oxå. Kanske går att h itta fram ett och annat boulder problem oxå om man har tur:smile:.

Har inte helt hundra koll eftersom jag inte varit där. Men det är en vandringsled som många cyklar på. Jag tror att det är blandad sinletrack och crosscountry. Googla på kinnekulle så kan du hitta lite info. Senast jag läste om det var i en MTB tidning. Verkade inte var så supertekniskt men har hört på flera håll att det skall vara riktigt fin körning. Och blir man ett gäng e det ju alltid kul:smile:.

Är i Åre nu, åkte bräda idag för första gången. Är helt slut i kroppen, men fasen va kul. Väntar på vind så kitesen får komma upp i skyn. :laugh:
