Speedsurfingblog: First Competition Day Belgium Speedweek 2010
After a nice skippersmeeting in the sun at 10:00 it was looking like there would be no wind. Together with teammate Sarah Hebert I did some shopping+ hanging on the beach. And now on Joerg his camping with good internet. Yesterday I had some hard times tuning and testing, somethings didn’t 100% worked out like I would have thought. With lots of competitors on the course it was tricky, also the wind shifted about 10 times.
My RS:Slalom MK3 6.2 has a broken bottom camber, at home I have 3 almost new cambers… But here NOT, yesterday I rigged the 6.2 and it was not hard to feel the bottom campressure missing, stability was now lower than 7.0 in the gusts. Overall I was not happy with my performance, maybe I wasn’t fit, or just at the wrong moment on the water. Also I think the ”not-overtake”-zone would be helpfull to get some good basicspeed.
John Overmeer had the best crash on sunday, with one broken boom+ some damage on his board.
Hope we will get some good wind, I have to choose between 5.5 and 7.0. For the board I prefer the fanatic falcon 79 and sonntag SL-S.
The pictures show we have some nice weather at least, like summer in the Netherlands with a little cold onshore wind.
