Continentseven: Surfworldcup Poderdorf 2010 entrants
The start into the 2010 PWA season is coming closer. Today the PWA published the entrants. For the Podersdorf event, which also is an official EFPT tourstop, are already 42 riders on the PWA list.
That is a much higher number compared to many Freestyle events in the past. And if you have a much more detailed view on the list you will recognize, that there are starters from 17 different countries registered. The biggest number of riders should arrive from Brasil and France. 5 riders of these countries will fight for 30,000 € price money. Also from Austria are 5 riders registered, followed by Germany with 4 riders on the list.
Any surprises? Yes. Normen Günzlein will continue to compete on the PWA tour, Raimondo Gasperini does not feel too old to compete in the fleet of young newschoolers and one of the best Austrian freestylers, Michael Sumereder is not on the list yet. Dieter van der Eyken is missing on the list as well, who got third in the 2009 EFPT final on Naxos. Let´s see, if there will be added some more names. A starting fleet with 48 riders would be possible for sure. The event will be started on the 30 th of April and we will see, who is going to register then.
Favourites? Current worldchampion Gollito Estredo likes the choppy conditions on teh Lake Neusiedler and is the big favourite. He has won in 2008 at Podersdorf. The Bonaire gang with Kiri, Tonky & Taty – just watch “The island boys”clip – seems to be on fire. And Steven van Broeckhoven will have some new tricks in his pocket. Davy Scheffers could present the Skopu…. We will definitely see new moves at Podersdorf.
