With the summer looming on the horizon we are setting a steady course for the summer season – summer number 14!
The first major change has obviously been our updated web site (http://www.flagbeach.com) – as those regulars will have noticed it has undergone a facelift!! We hope that you will find it more user-friendly. As well as the daily weather report, you can now view weather information at Flag Beach for the past 18 months (http://www.flagbeach.com/selectweather.php).As per the last newsletter we have already received the first batch of kit from Fanatic 2002 however we are expecting the second batch in preparation for busy times in June. We will be stocking as usual the following boards: the Rip Boards, Bees and New for this year Skate and XRay (http://www.flagbeach.com/windsurfing_boards.shtml). With regards to the sails we have gone for the 3 wave/Freestyle ranges: Disco, DrX and Triple XXX.
We continue to use the Naish R3 kites for teaching as we find these very stable, and during the winter months we have also been using the Rhinos for rentals or more advanced tuition. On May 1st we recieved a 10.0 Toro to test. This kite is perfect for kitesurfers who are just moving on to a 4 line kite, with its lower aspect ratio, and is much easier to use than the Rhino, as it tends not to be so fast. We will be using these for the summer as well as the Rhinos and R3s.
As usual all this kit – especially kiting can be bought from us in used and some cases new condition.Kite boards: for rentals and advanced courses we are stocking most of the Fanatic range – directional McCoys to Twin Tip/Mutant AC/DCs. We will also have the Spider 159 and the Raptor. Both of these boards are the latest additions to the Fanatic Kiteboarding range.
With so many windsurfers now getting into kiting we only thought it reasonable that we offer a combination of both windsurfing and kite surfing kit rentals – during non busy months! See the web site (http://www.flagbeach.com/rental_prices.shtml).
On the accommodation front things could not be better – with so many clients now booking direct with us we have a large selection available (too many for the site!). In fact Los Geranios (http://www.flagbeach.com/los_geranios.shtml) is now a Flag Beach managed complex. Other accommodation which is to be recommended for our German clients is Club Trendorado (http://www.flagbeach.com/trendorado.shtml) – an excellent place for young and single people!!
We are happy to announce that Luca our centre manager will be prolonging his winter stay and remaining with us for the summer season. We have Dutch speaking instructors this summer too and as usual we are an international – team speaking between us approx 9 languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Dutch, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian (http://www.flagbeach.com/the_team.shtml).
We offer very competitive rates on car hire… please book well in advance – last year there was a stop sale on the months of July and August as the Island was so busy!!
We look forward to seeing many of you again this year (or next!) and look forward to the windy season.
