Tjena halloj everyhopa.
    Her vi gö:

    General

    1) Never leave kit at home because you don´t think you´ll need it, and can´t be bothered to pack it.

    2) Always have a wee before you put your wetsuit on. (tog mig 4 år och lära mig detta)
    3) Don´t wear Speedos. Please.

    4) SUPERTIP Leave your socks on when pulling your wetsuit on, or put your feet in a plastic bag first. But don´t do this if the suit is still wet.

    5) Get a GPS and get into using it.

    6) Take a map if you don´t know the way to the beach…

    7) Always pack a screwdriver.

    8) Use wire to attach an emergency spare car key somewhere under your car, and then cover it with thick grease. You won´t be tempted to use it until the time you´re all alone in a desolate car-park and find your mate´s gone off with your keys.

    9) If you´ve bunked off school or work to go sailing, use total sunblock to avoid a tell-tale tan. (haha)

    10) SUPERTIP For some reason, you´ll end up humming the last song you heard on the drive to the beach but which didn´t finish – so make sure you put on one you like… and turn it off befor it finishes! (ska defenitivt testa!!!)

    11) Strethc in the morning if you expect to sail that day.

    12) Eat a meal high in carbohydrates (such as pasta) the night before a big sailing session.

13)Stretch after a sailing session if at all possible.

    14) Take a banana and a bottle of water to the beach.

    15) SUPERTIP You can make a horribly wet rash-vest a lot more appealing by microwaving it before you head to the beach. But not if it´s titanium lined.

    16) If you´re sailing somewhere very synny, wear a deep and adjusteble baseball hat, tied to the zipper of your wetsuit.

    17) DON´T teech your partner to windsurf…
    18)…..but do buy them lessons.

    19) Book a windsurfing holiday this week!

    20) SUPERTIP To emergency-dry a wet wetsuit, roll it tightly in a dry beachtowel and walk up and down on it to squeeze out the water.

    21) Take up surfing if you wanna improve your wavesailing.

    22) Don´t celibrate a great forecast tomorrow whit too many beers.

    23) Always doublecheck that you´ve packed your harness.. (och masten som jag glömt 2 ggr under 8-9 säsonger…)

    24) Try to sail upwind of where everyone else is sailing. The water state and wind will be better there.

    25) Know the width of your board(s).

    26) Competition is the fastest way to improve…
    27) …with the possible exception of a dedicated windsurfing clinic.

    28) When racing, congratulate everyone whether or not you win.

    29) Smile more, windsurfing´s supposed to be fun!

    30) Always look before you gybe!!!

    31) Subscribe at Board´s Magazine. It saves you money. (Sant, denna gick på 89:-)

    32) SUPERTIP Wear a wrist strap as well, to help you remember to always remove your ankle straps befor you try to take your wetsuit off.

    33) When jump high, DON`T look down! (Grymt tips, försök o kolla horizonten)

    34) In an emergency you can tie boards in bags directly to a car roof if you don´t have a roofrack. Open the doors and tie the straps through the car.

    35) If you get wiped-out in waves and lose the board, cover your head and face with your hands as you surface.

    36) Beginners; By your own equipment and learn to rig it yoursealf so you can be independent.

    37) Got out every time you can. Tomorrow it might not be windy.

    38) Become a guest thester for Boards Magazine. You´ll learn an incredible amount about windsurifng equipment.

    39) Eat better, and get fitter.

    40) Always have sunscreen in your car/van/kitbag and use it on your face every time you go sailing, even if it´s cloudy.

    Weather

    41) If you´re relatvely new to windsurfing, remeber it can be windy even if it´s raining.

    42) wear a fully UV-proof -and ideally polarised – sunglasses.

    43) Keep your kit out of the sun when you´re not using it.

    44) the rays htat pass through car windows can still damage monofilm.

    45) Don´t forget to put suncream on the backs of you hands and tops of your feet(but not too much or it will make board slippery)

    Safety

    46) If your board and rig bevome separated, always(!) swim for your board first!

    47) Buy a safetypack, fit it to your harness and forget about it until you need it.

    48) Always put uphaul on your rig.

    49) If you don´t – and get caught out when the wind drops – uphaul by going hand-over-hand up the mast, or by sliding the harness line right to the front of the boom.

    Equipment

    50) You´ll have more form you quiver if you have at least two fins for each board.

51)Don´t put upp wiht wobbly classic boxfins. Cut up plastic drinks bottles or cans into small squares and use them too pack it out.

    52) SUPERTIP Buy any new sails in the same coloer as current ones, so your partner doesn´t realise it´s new! (mhowahaha)

53)Check the rubber seal under your board´s air-valve.

    54) When you put footstraps onto a board, check the vovers close from front to back, so the spray doesn´t force them open.

    55) Periodically check you footstrapscrews are tight.

    Rigging

56)Mark your rigging settings for different sails on your extension with a permanent marker.

    57) Take the time to make sure your boom to mast connection is tight.

    58) When rigging, before applying the downhaul, check your mast is properly joined together and hasn´t partially come apart while sleevin the sail.

    59) Learn to rig your sail, properly, in five minutes flat.

    60) SUPERTIP To acheive a super-tight roll-up of your sail, stand at the leech side and roll it from the leech, not the luff.

    61) Racers; roll your sails alternate ways each time you derig, it stop them becoming asymmetric.

    62) If you can´t get enough downhaul on, pull on a lot of outhaul the try again.

    63) When rigging on rough surfaces, rotate the battens up to avoid scratching the body of the sail.

    64) SUPERTIP To reduce friction on downhaul rope, rub it with a candle or surf wax (or aurosol silicone, or KLICK 😉

    65) If your sail has an adjustable head, us the mast extension to leave the minimum posseble amound of mast sticking out of the top.

    66) SUPERTIP Invest in a rubber mallet – aveilable form all good camping chops – to make it easy to get fins out of boxes.

    67) If you haven´t got one, remove fins by undoing the screw, pacing a bit of wetsuit/teeshirt) anything soft against the leading edge of the fin and then administering a sharp tap towards the back of the board with a mast extension.

    68) When unsleeeving your mast, get a friend to stand on the head of the sail, then twist the mast as you pull it out to stop it from separating.

    69) Before you hit the water for the firfst time in a session, chek the outhaul and donhaul ropes ar cleated and tied off properly, the adjustable head is locaded properly, the mastfoot is tight and the masbase is fixed properly, and the fin is in properly- It only takes 30 sec but could save you major hassle later on when something comes undone….

    Buying and selling

    70) Gently sand the rails of your board before selling it, to make ti look newer.
    71) For maximum resale value, put on new footstraps and fin too.

72)When considering the recommendation of strangers on windsurifng forums, remember that: a) they may have a commercial interest in the product they´re promoting, and b) everyone learns to love their equipment and adapt to its foibles, even if it´s entirely inappropriate kit for their requirements.

    73) When considering the recommendation of pro sailors, remember that they are paid to make their spnors´kit look and sound good. 74….

    74)…. blaj.

    75) Keep old tests and check the classifieds from time to time for secondhand test winners.

    Repair

    76) Fix dings as soon as you find them.

    77) A sticker will fix a small hole in the monofilm of a sail

    78) Duck tape will fix almost anything temporarily. Keep some in the car. (dagens underdrift, silver/gaffa-rulle är en surfares måste!!!)

    79) SUPERTIP When using Ding Stick, either use water or spit to soften it. It makes mixing and applying it far easier and neater.

    80) Sand down dings and rough bits on your fins – they can cause spinout…

    81) If your footpads are coming off, use contact adhesive to stick them back on and roofrack straps to clamp them don while it´s drying.

    82) Bicycle repair patces don´t work on holes in wetsuits(????)

    83) Don wee in your wetsuit, it damages the glue that holds it togehter. If you have to go, pull the suit open at the neck and flush loads of water down to wash it out! BRRRRRR

    84) The easiest way to separate a stuck mast is to get lots of people on each end. If your on your own, clamp as many booms as you can to the boom area of the mast and twist the top part while the booms stick it into the ground.

    Technique/Sailing

    85) Bend the knees mor in manoeuvres. It´s hard to bend them enough!

    86) Look where you want to go.

    87) Use long harness lines. Almost all the world´s top sailors can´t be wrong!

    88) You probably need more downhaul.

    89) Try some / all of the following before changing down:
    *More downhaul
    *More outhaul
*Put down the boom a bit
    *A smaller fin
    *harness lines further back
    (and the opposites when underpowered)

    90) If you´re still uncomforably over /underpowered (unless it´s obviously a squall or the lull at the back of a cloud) — change sails!

    91) Think about moving the mastfoot position:
Forward = more early planning and/or control in high winds.
Back= A livelier feel, higher top speeed and more manoeuvrability.

    92) SUPERTIP When uphauling on wide boards, sand on the edge away from the sail, so your weight forces the sail out of the water. (KAN DISKUTERAS)

    93) Learn to sail clewfirst.
    94) Sail in short burst or ”power hours”. You´ll improve faster that way.
    95) Get someone to film your sailing. It´s amazing to see how many errors you make when you watch it back, and its´the easiest way to stop making them.

    96) Have a sailing goal each time you go out.
    97) Try and sail with people who ar better than you….
98)….and never be afraid to speak to them, or ask advice.

    99) When trying to get upwind and not planing, dig the upwind rail in to increase the lateral resistance.

    100) Help others at teh beach if it looks like they need it.

    Travelling

    101) Try to pay in advance when flying with kit, and take some proof of payment to the check-in.

    102) Remember that you can´t fly with bags heavier than 32kg these days. And that some airlines have reduced this to 27kg.

    103) Tak you bung out before flying, but put it in a footstrap and stick a bit of brightly coloured paper (or something) in the hole so you don´t forget to put the bung back in when you hit the water.

    104) Tennis balls stuffed under the footstraps can stop them getting squashed and deformed.

    105) Take a first aid kit, and include the following; iodine for cuts, superglue and plaster for holes in hands, needles and tweezers for removing urchin spines.

Bok, nja, kanske. Vi får se. 😉
