Ok, now its time.. shouldnt something be happening`?
It kinna annoys me that there are so many different ways out there that are available for car manufacturers to revolutionize the way we pollute our enviroment. It never fails to shock me how hard it is for a normal joe like me to find a car that is practical enough for me to use in order for me to justify buying it – shouldnt something be happening already!!??

What annoys me more is that no one does a thourough life cycle analysis of possible new energy sources before going into large scale product development. They are still disputing whether ethanol (that is made from different crops) actually is better for the environment than fossil fuels or if we just have a completely different set of problems/issues instead…

I would say it’s the big oil companies who’s the finger in the eye!!! No one wants to go from fossile fuel to renewable fuel cus’ they loose money on it. Period. Though there is a electric car manufatorer here in sweden. The toll is something about 1 million per car because they don’t sell that many cars but what if they sent out a ”form” for everyone in sweden to fill in or say: Where interested in the car if it costs less… Then they lets say that 100.000 people did that, then it would be deadly cheap and force every other carmaker to start producing electric cars as well… the technologie is there but noone wants to tae the fisrt step in large scale. sounds strange?? am i missing something??

I think you guys are both right in what you say.. Neven has an interesting point though, apparently Diesel is classed as being cleaner for the environment than ethanol, based on the amount of pollution caused in the production line. I have a friend who is a chemist back in scotland working in the oil industry, and he said that they have talked about it, and if we wanted to meet the demand of the vehicle industry bu using ethanol, then we wouldnt be able to feed all the people as a result.
The airlines are going to have serious problems as well, when I worked in business development, I met with some people from Boeing in CPH, and they are scared shitless about the prospect of trying to get something in the air..
It seems that we are going to have as many different choices for fuel as we have for beer. Has anyone here got a flexifuel car? hows that working out? anyone with an electric car/ or hybrid? how should the rest of us choose? what should we think about?
