  23. July 2005 – Speedsailing Day 1

  Finian Maynard and Karin Jaggi are the fastest surfers on the water

  After the completed slalom series the speedarea opened up at the early afternoon. The conditions looked great, windspeed above 35 knots seemd to make a new world record possible. The mobile time measurement has been transferred to the official 500 metre course.

  There has been no chance today to beat the world records of Finian Maynard and Karin Jaggi, which have been set on a special flatwater course, but the current world record holders still have been the fastest surfers on the water at this first day of the speedsailing elimination.

  Finian Maynard took the lead with a speed of 36,00 knots, Karin Jaggi won the womens challenge speeding with 28,85 knots. Antoine Albeau (35,81 knots) and Bjoern Dunkerbeck (35,10 knots) reached second and third position, Valerie Ghibaudo (27,53 knots) and Britt Dunkerbeck (26,25 knots) took position two and three at the ladies fleet.

  Sedan går det bra för Anders Bringdal i Maui speed även om man kanske inte kan jämnföra farten rakt av. Toppfart kontra medelfart äver 500 m.
