kommer med en ny serie vågbrädor utan Naish logo. Har Naish avbrytit
samarbetet med Mistral?

Mr Naish går sin egen väg och lämnar Mistral. Alla parter är dock puss och kram med varandra enl. Mistral.

Megascene som har agenturen för seglen var mycket glada i höstas då detta blev känt, så jag tror att Megascene tar det. De har ett bra år, de har tagit agenturen för Burton snowboards och nu också för Naish brädor!
För övrigt har de ju Tabou som jag seglar i år. Jämfört med Naish 8.5 2000 är Tabou 254 2001 skönare! Snabbare, planar tidigare samt har ett bättre grepp i svängen! Skön som sagt!
Det blir spännande att se vad Naish kommer med till 2002.S..

Naish’s linje ser intressant ut. Speciellt gillar jag deras concept med Questbrädorna, där man i princip gör en viss design (allround wave) till olika vikter på seglare (åtminstånde presenteras det på det sättet). I princip alla andra (utom möjligen RRD) gör ju en linje där man samtidigt riktar t.ex. de stora brädorna mot tunga seglare OCH lättvind. Enligt min mening är detta inte samma sak, dvs det blir en bräda för en tung seglare ELLER lättvind.
Tyvärr orkar inte Naish andä fram i detta avseende. Deras Competitionserie annonseras som olika typer av brädor för olika förhållanden (vilket då implicit implicerar at de är gjorda för en ca 75 kilos-seglare). Det vore kul att veta hur en “Hookipabräda” för lättviktare skulle sett ut.
Jag skall ett par-tre veckor till Oahu på konferens senare i sommar. Då blir det kanske till att testa Quest 244 och Competition 8’1″.

Intressant fråga det där! Jag har en fråga angående en viss JP Wave 260 med 81 liter från 1999. Ja, den tillverkades också 1998 och kanske också 1997. Är det samma bräda som den som testas i testet här nedanför. Det har med att brädan inte rekommenderas för åkare under 75 kilo, jag varande 70…

Having now secured the world wave title for two successive years and seen his own board brand position itself firmly in the thick of the wave board market, Jason Polakow can rightfully feel pretty happy with himself With two new sizes to the wave range last year giving a line up of five models in total, every size has been redesigned for 2000 with the same length measurement, except for the 265 which has been shortened to 262 (although they aIso retain similar volume). Whilst the whole board has been reshaped, wthout doubt the most striking change to all the new JP Wave models is the presence of a channel in the underhulI rocker Iine in the footstrap area. The brochure claims that these channels help produce earlier planing, higher speed better upwind penformance, easier tuming and more control can all be fully substantiated, as both the JP models tested really excelled in all these areas. The 85 Iitre 260 is supplied with a 23cm JP On Shore Wave fin in the classic US Box style fitting and an overall width measurement of 56.5cms. Whilst all the sizes in the range ane shaped with the same even plan shape outline and flat with rail lift to vee with channels bottom shape, the 260’s slightly flatter rocker Iine and marginally more upnght fin do give it certain on-shore characteristics. However, the JP range as a whole wth their constant rockers and relatively thin tails are about as cross-shore biased as you can get in a product on board, so the 260 still does both extremes exceptional y well within its size group. Feeling happy with sails up to around 6.0, the 260 really does spring up on to the plane very easily, virtually eliminating that sticky feeling often felt with pure wave boards, which in turn allows it to quicky accelerate to a very fast top speed. Control and grip in the turn is in no way, compromised though, producing a very positive biting arc with a significantly less skatey feel than last years model. In fact, in this respect, all the new models seem much easier all-round to sail for any level of wave sailor further extending the r appeal.
Overall – The channel bottom design really does seem to be the secret to this boands outstanding al -round performance, producing great early planing, speed, control and tuming in both side and on-shore conditions. Best suited to heavier sailors of around 75 kilos plus and more marginal wave conditions.Är detta samma bräda som tilverkades 1997 till 1999 alltså?
