Faaaaking nice to see him in Dalen, I felt awesome just being close to him.

yeah you pretty much have it there mate. Kite is easier to learn, and the gear is easier to move around in the car. You can also kite in less wind than windsurfers.
The rest is pretty obvious stuff. We can kite in shallower water, and the gear is MUCH cheaper for kitesurf.
