Detta stämmer inte, måttet från LE til TE är inte AR.
Det är en del av AR uträkningen.Och profilen/camber har inget med AR att göra.

you didnt read
”Secondly, if you were to cut the kite from the front to back while it was flying, you would notice that the profile of the wing is mugh higher on the high aspect than the low.. I did a drawing in paint for you….”?
that would be the other half of the info required to calculate the AR? I hope I am not missing something….

a harness costing even 2000 is not expensive, considering you buy something that can last 5 years and work really well..
I think of all the things people spend money on, the harness should be the thing that takes most thought with exception to the kite.

I actually didnt think you got the knife with the pat love.. but it doesnt have the strap that stops the hook going into your ribs or the harness riding up into your tits..

it means Aspect Ratio…
lets say you have two kites, they are both 10m/2… one is a high AR and the other a Low AR.
ok so take a line down the middle of the kite from the leading edge to the trailing edge
First off, the distance between the LE and TE on a high AR kite is less than that of a low AR.. so from underneath when you are flying the kite, it will look much thinner from the front to the back.
Secondly, if you were to cut the kite from the front to back while it was flying, you would notice that the profile of the wing is mugh higher on the high aspect than the low.. I did a drawing in paint for you….
So.. what does this all mean?
well a high aspect kite will typically be faster turning, and fly from one side of the window to the other than a low aspect would. A high aspect kite also offers much better hang than a low aspect kite when jumping. Although they are typically considered as high performance kites, they are generally not very stable, and can be a total bitch to relaunch. They are the perfect kite for a technical wave rider with heaps of ability.
A medium/low aspect kite, has a much better bottom end.. so typically, it will have much better power when its almost enough wind for that kite than the same size high AR would have. They also turn slower, making them perfect for wakestyle, they dont have as great hang, but typically heaps of initial boost, and are much easier to launch than a high aspect kite.
There is no point going into why the kites behave the way they do.. its all to do with drag, lifting surface and how quickly you can stall a wing profile… but at least you know the basics now : )

HAHAHAHAHA hengo you rock.

well the mystic has that cool extra strap that keeps the spreader down, and you get a knife in the hardness… both the LF and the mystic have a nice release on the handlepass leash thing as its hard to get to the leash itself flying backwards… then you get all the follow up service you could ever need from mystic Sweden you could ever need. I would take the mystic.

the cabrinha nitro was a high AR.. Although I think the torch behaves like one.
-
damn right martin, hell it looks so easy huh? the guy got skills.

heey, stop pickin on me : ) if you were hardcore enough to be out in the crappy weather today, you probably saw me giving out some surferlove on the beach, and doing day two of training that flatwater thing..
The reason I dont party with you guys is that I just dont trust the locals, too many times have I woken up and covered in pen and stickers..
