I have tried the nova 2, not the 3, but its a medium aspect kite, so it wont be hard to start I am guessing.. as for this whole ”its hard to waterstart a kite thing”, I dont think it is.. all the students I had last year were able to start the rippehr no problem – sure there are kites that launch super easy like the LF kites.. but again, its a medium aspect thing and you miss out on the whole high aspect kite flying experience.

try high aspect, the extra 10 or 15 seconds it takes to relaunch will be worth the effort, if you dont want to spend too much, go with the rippehr, I honestly believe there isnt a kite that flies better. We have bugged the shit outta eric to change small stuff here and there and he came back with a whole new bar and CL for us this year, it definatly doesnt feel cheap anymore.

If ya wanna spend a bit more, try the Helix… I know, its all ”glam glam” and kinna misses the point for me, but then again its actually a decent kite, wuality bar and a kickass pump (I think I did a review on it a while ago) then you will have the whole of the EH and Varberg crew behind you if you have any problems… cant ask for better than that.

north – good kite, sold by people who dont care about customer service….

hehehe good point there… but there are plenty of great instructors around that dont have the IKO.. go to the beach and find out who the local instuctors are and meet them face to face.

If you want to hire gear abroad, you dont always need a cert to prove you can bodydrag, they wont hire gear out to you if you are not good enough to ride anyway… by that time it wont be hard to show you are compitent enough to handle a kite.
