Oj shit vad JP har poppat upp grafiken.

Vet inte om Robby gillar stora fenor, men andra bilder visar mindre fenor.
Tanken är att köra med kring 16cm center och 11cm thrusters.Vet inte hur flexiga de blir i slutändan men Ola hade någon bild där det liknar de bamboo fenor som sitter på vissa SUPar.

Even Odds
CP Austria, leaders in windsurf board design and manufacturing, today announces two completely new concepts for wave sailing, the SingleThruster and the TwinQuad.
Brand manager explains:
“We bought together our team of world champions and in a tight process with them and our creative shaper we have once again redefined the modern wave board.”Shaper:
“In the process leading up to the 2010 Quad board we did a huge amount of experimentation to find out how to redesign our twin fin board to work as a quad fin. A further year of hard work has helped us to further deepen that knowledge to the point that we now not only can improve the quad fin but also introduce the revolutionary concept of a SingleThruster”.The thruster fin setup is a concept previously known from surf boards. It consist of a regular center fins and two fins further forward, closer to the rail. Sailors used to the established quad concept can think of the thruster as a quad where the rear fins are moved together, eventually becoming one center mounted fin. Naturally, with the strong surfing heritage, the thruster boards are looser and turnier than anything else. But the thruster concept is not all! The novel thinking in this concept is that the board can be sailed both with one fin and with three fins. With the help of a small tool the sailors themselves can remove the front fins and use the board with a slightly bigger center fin only – a single fin. This allows even higher speeds
Together with the SingleThruster, the new TwinQuad is also presented.
Shaper again:
“In our R&D and testing process we found out that the advanced changes that need to be made to a board when adding or subtracting fins, only work when an even number of fins are changed. With the help of advanced numerically controlled nonsense (NCN) we found that some board then must have an odd number of fins and some an even number of fins. Experience from developing the singlethruster together with the insight that two and four are in fact both even numbers helped us realize the TwinQuad.”Just like the singlethruster, the TwinQuad can be used with two different fin setups, two fins or four fins. The quad fin setup is a concept previously known from surf boards. It consist of two regular rear fins and two fins further forward, closer to the rail. Naturally, with the strong surfing heritage, the quad boards are looser and turnier than anything else. But the quad concept is not all! The novel thinking in this concept is that the board can be sailed both with two fins and with four fins. En till (lätt moddad), denna gång om den nya konceptet “Single fin”
Queso Hawaii, the most innovative windsurfing board makers on the planet, has totally re-thought the idea of a wave board and has by starting from a clean cheat come up with a revolutionary new fin concept.
“For many years, focus has been on adding more fins but with all the added drag we had to make the rockers faster to make the boards acceptable for our customers” says the designer “Now we have found a way to lessen all that drag by taking away all fins except one which means we can use a turnier shape and in the end have a looser AND faster board”.
The “Single fin”, which is the name for this new innovation, is not a completely new idea. Some older sailors might remember boards with only one fin being popular with certain sailors many, many years ago. But it’s not as easy as just filling out those fin boxes on your current board and stick a big new box in the center of the tail. The designer again:
“The first single fin boards we tried didn’t feel very good overall but had some interesting things to them which caught my interest so we continued to work with the concept. After many iterations we have adjusted out shapes and also worked with our fin supplier which has come up with just the right profile and planform to make it work. These new single fin shapes is nothing like the single fins of old times. Back then the focus was all speed and looseness. We completely reversed the thinking and have instead focused on looseness and speed.”
The new boards are available immediately from your dealer.

Hur som ska det bli kul att testa olika känslor, som du själv gjort med olika fenuppsättningar.

Brädor med flera fenor är ju bra coolt men det verkar som twin är det bästa för små vågor?
Ola har säkert någon bra analys?
Det känns som många har glömt bort All Wave, Pocket, Real World Wave mfl.
Dessa brädor tror jag är bättre vågbrädor för ganska många svenska vågseglare som inte har någon fulländad teknik. Mer förlåtande och lättare att få farten med sig.
Själv älskar jag twin konceptet(utan att vara helt fulländad:)), har inte provat Quad ännu.Hur ser det ut på segelfronten då?
Själv får jag hem några segel av 2011års modell redan i mitten av maj.
Gaastra Iq, lite kortare master, mjuka och goa, hoppas de tål en del vind också.
5,0 och neråt har 4 lattor, mycket av utvecklingen kommer från Vandal Riot. -

QUATRO 2011: KT MODEL

Jag prov körde en 5.3a 2011 Goya-Sails Eclipse (Sneak peak bifogat… helmet cam foto…Förlåt mig Jason D., men då skulle du inte har lånat ut den till mig när jag va på Maui…hehe). Nästa års model största ändring är vikt minskning på hela 1lbs (0.5kg), tack vara ett helt ny och super stark material (vita panelen på bilden) vilket gör att en 5.3a känns som en 5.0. Seglet går från 0 till 100 på ett helt otroligt neutralt men skittsnabb sätt och planar genom vind håll som bara den… Annars är det mest små men viktiga detaljer som har andräts.

Ska vi gå över till 2012/2013 med det här paparazzifoto från Ho’okipa för några veckor sen? Jag tror mycket på färre lattor och tunnare/lättare segel som vi kanske byter oftare. Kan man börja drömma om lägre styckpris också?
Egen design och produktion av killen som skymtar bakom. Extremt lätt och enligt honom själv förvånansvärt stabilt. Nu blåste det inte direkt hårt så jag vet inte om tryckcentrum vandrade i någons segel den dagen…
