I think what is true to say these days is that almost all kites ride well, sure, they all have little differences that set them apart, but its difficult to buy a shit kite.. however it is easy to pay too much for one.
Bowkites are definately the way forward for the beginner though, and they have been around long enough now to find good deals all over the place.
Cant wait to meet you guys on the beach! its always great to have a new face from varberg in the Family. (I dont know what it is, you guys all seem to be so awesome up there)

ahh dude I think its going to be desperate, but I am DYING to get out and ride, I will be over on the east coast all morning then I can check again while I am over there, lets see how it feels… its pretty sunny so maybe we can hope for a bit of breeze.
