the problem with a slow kite is that it can actually slow students progress down from getting out of the water and up on a board, I would always say go with the kite that is a little faster, not EH Rippehr fast, but a train should be left to the flatwater boys that dont need to worry what their kite is doing. : )

single layer or double layer? neoprene glue should work, be carefull not to use anything too stiff or it will just rip up again
